Rabbit Kaka Sungura lashes out at poor pay for local musicians

Nairobi - It is unfortunate that even to this day Kenyan artists are still fighting for their rights as musicians, asking for equality from industry stakeholders.
Radio stations have been at the receiving end of artist’s wrath, with most being accused of playing international music more than local music.
On the other hand, the stations have called out the artists for poor production quality, something that has improved immensely over the years. The battle has been taken to a new front, artists going up in arms over live performance pay biases.
Kenyan rapper Rabbit Kaka Sungura is at the forefront of this assault, claiming that artists from as close as Tanzania (Diamond, Alikiba etc) are paid millions of Kenyan shillings for performances, with their Kenyan counterparts being paid a fraction of the amount.
He wrote a lengthy post on Facebook calling out these injustices and asking for a level playing field.
He claims that music production quality would increase if the artists had the money to spend on video and audio, something that they are currently getting very little of.
