President Kenyatta the reason I quit ODM, MP says
01 September 2016, 08:20
Nairobi - An MP has explained why he has quit ODM for the Jubilee Coalition.
Nominated mP Isaac Mwaura recently announced that he will contest the 2017 polls via a Jubilee Party ticket and not ODM which sponsored him to Parliament.
And he says that he has no hard feelings with anyone within ODM.
" I leave ODM because I believe Jubilee will form the next government and I am certain that working closely with the leadership will help people with disabilities even more," he stated.
He said that President Uhuru Kenyatta asked him to change sides last year after he visited State House during his wedding day.
" The President asked me why I was in ODM when we could do many things together and asked me to think about it," he stated.
" I am happy to have followed up on his request," he added.
Mwaura follows a legion of ODM MPs that have catapulted to the ruling coalition in recent months and thanks to his non confrontational nature will be a loss to ODM from the legislative front.
