President Kenyatta condoles with families of slain officers in Kapenguria, promises support

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has condoled with the families of police officers who lost their lives during an attack in West Pokot County.
Six police officers were on Thursday shot dead by one of their colleagues at Kapenguria police station.
One General service Unit officer also died who was in the company of others that had been deployed to the scene died in a fierce shoot-out which also saw the attacker killed.
"I mourn with the families of the young men who died in Kapenguria defending their nation against a depraved killer, said President Kenyatta in a statement sent to newsrooms.
"We do not know what led the killer to his foul and evil deeds, but my government's security and investigative agencies will do all within their power to discover what motivated this attack, " he added.
He promised that the government will come to the aid of the families of the slain officers.
