Power-thirsty senators plotting to kill House

Nakuru - Nakuru Senator, James Mungai has accused his colleagues in the Senate of plotting to kill the House by vying for gubernatorial positions in next year's polls.
Mungai said that most senators are eyeing various governorship positions, a move he says will weaken the Senate and eventually kill it.
Speaking Tuesday in Nakuru town, Mungai said that senior members of the Senate are likely to be elevated into governors in next year's polls, leaving the Senate to junior and inexperienced politicians who will be overpowered by the National Assembly.

"The National Assembly has been trying all it can to kill the Senate and if senior Senate members like Kiraitu Murungi and Bonni Kwalwale get elected as governors, then members of the National Assembly will get a leeway to kill the House," cautioned Mungai.
"I think it's wrong for the senators to run for governorship because now who will be in the Senate?" he posed.
Mungai called on his colleagues to tone down their ego and serve Kenyans in the Senate.
