Nairobi - Uriri Member of Parliamen, John Kobado has called for the postponement of the next year's general elections.
Speaking on Citizen TV, Kobado said that the elections should be moved from August to December next year to so that the Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission(IEBC) have enough preparations to conduct the polls.
"From my own analysis, the timeline provided is too short for the IEBC to conduct a credible, free and fair election", he said.
The electoral body announced that the country will go into the polls in August next year in line with the provisions of the new constitution.
The Orange Democratic Movement have been calling for the ouster of the commission and Parliament adopted the recommendations of a special committee on electoral reforms that called for the disbandment of the IEBC.
