Political gangs formed in Kirinyaga to harass rivals

Nairobi - The government has raised a red flag over emergence of a political gang in Kirinyaga County.
County Commissioner Erastus Ekidor has said rogue politicians have recruited thugs to harass their rivals ahead of the 2017 general elections.
He vowed to deal with them in accordance with the law.
Governor Joseph Ndathi echoed the commissioner’s sentiments, saying he has fallen prey to such a gang in several instances.
He urged the government to take severe action against the gang’s financiers even as he vowed not to be intimidated from delivering services to residents.
He said several of his meetings have been disrupted by young men whom he said are under hire by his rivals.
