Police raise alarm over lone Mombasa Road gunman

Nairobi - Police have raised alarm over the presence of a lone gunman terrorizing motorists along Mombasa Road.
The gunman has been waylaying motorists during rush hour traffic in the dark and Police are yet to arrest him despite a number of complaints from members of the public.
He has been described as tall, lean and dark in skin colour.
Victims of the gunman say that he is not afraid to shoot and especially despite the open nature in which he has committed his crimes.
Members of the public say that Police who are usually close to the scene have on more than one occasion failed to react.
Nairobi Police boss Japheth Koome says that there have been reports and that his office has been informed of the gunman.
" We have received a number of complaints and we are working on the situation. We will catch up with him," he told News24.
Koome says that reports that Police have ignored cries for help by members of the public are also being investigated.
This follows complaints by a motorist that after being attacked, Police who were close to the scene did nothing and asked that he instead go seek help elsewhere.
