Nyeri - Nyeri police have launched manhunt for a man suspected of sexually assaulting eight women at Ngangarithi village in Nyeri Town sub-County.
Residents reported that the said rapist was striking his targets at night between 2am and 4am after mysteriously breaking into their houses.
They said the man, in his 30s, is known to dress up as a woman to cause confusion.
“He picks the padlocks of a house before raping the occupant. He also threatens to kill them,” said a resident who sought anonymity.

They noted that the suspect marks out houses of his targets, mainly women who live alone, before striking at night.
However, police reports say there is no sign of forced entry into any of the houses.
“Only two women have reported to us and medical results showed they were raped. We have identified the suspect and a search is on course,” said area OCPD Maasai Makau.
