Nakuru - Businessmen in Nakuru have been cautioned against an online criminal killer gang targeting businessmen in the town.
Nakuru OCPD, Musa Kongoli said that the online gang which is operating from Nakuru County is using online trading platforms to profile their targets.
Kongoli said the gang was behind the killing of a civil engineer over the weekend in the town.
He added that police are pursuing possible leads that could lead to the arrest of the people behind the online gang.

Speaking Monday in Nakuru town, Kongoli said the gang members pose as online customers before luring traders and businessmen into their trap.
“Businessmen and any other person should be very careful when doing business online because this gang is using the online platform to target certain people. They pose as clients who later turn out to be killers,” said Kongoli.
He called on traders who do business online to only meet their clients in an open place and during the day for the sake of their security.
“If you have to meet someone, do it in the open and during the day because these night meetings are dangerous,” he said.
Over the weekend, a civil engineer was killed and dumped in his car by people who posed as buyers of his car, which he had advertised online.
