Police inspector robbed items worth KES 124K

Nyeri - A gang broke into the house of a senior police officer at Kamondo Estate in Kerugoya town Monday night and made away with an assortment of household items.
“It is true the robbers broke into the house of our colleague and made away with an assortment of goods including four tyres complete with rims all valued at KES 124 000, leaving his car flat on the ground" said Charles Ontita, the Deputy County Police Commander.
He said no one was in the house at the time of the night incident while investigations have since commenced.

Police from the scenes of crime went to the house looking for any clues that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
Ontinta assured county residents that security will be beefed up more so as the Christmas festive season approaches.
“I want to assure Kirinyaga County residents that we have put in place stringent measures as Christmas season approaches to ensure maximum security prevails,” Ontinta said.
He said investigations into the incident have commenced as he exuded confidence that those responsible will be brought to book.
