Police close Nairobi roads ahead of WTO conference

14 December 2015, 08:21 Victor Tinto

Nairobi - Police will close some major Nairobi roads ahead of the World Trade Organization UNCTAD Conference set to kick off Monday at the KICC.

Traffic flow on most roads in Nairobi will be disrupted and security has been scaled up as the World Trade Organisation meeting kicks off Monday.

Roads to be affected during the WTO event include Parliament Road, Harambee Avenue, City Hall Way, Taifa Road and Wabera Street.

They will all be closed till Friday.

" We will have a disruption in the traffic flow thanks to the conference at the KICC. We urge motorists to please find alternative routes," Central Police Station OCPD Paul Wanjama said.

City Hall Way was closed on Sunday night while the rest have been closed from Monday from 6am.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to open the conference Monday.
