Police chase train after it loses brakes in Nairobi

Nairobi - A train's brakes failed while on it s way in Nairobi forcing officers to chase after it.
The incident took place Wednesday evening, Kenya Railways told News24 via phone.
The train engine, which was headed to Githurai was out of control after its brakes failed, Kenya Railways Police Unit Commandant Kirimi Ringera said.
" The head lost its brakes and the train was headed to Githurai, we are currently pursuing it," he said.
The train head was later stopped in Kasarani area, Kirimi confirmed.
There were no passengers involved in the incident.
Incidences of train accidents are not common in Kenya but they old and badly maintained train network in Kenya has always been at risk of disaster.
