Police block burial of student killed by neighbours

Nyahururu - Police in Laikipia west sub-County have stopped the burial of a Form Two student whose body has been lying at their home for one week.
The area OCPD, Patrick Okeri said reports indicated that the boy succumbed to mob justice injuries.
Okeri confirmed that the family of Ndegwa Kariuki had been planning for burial at his home in Kabati village without reporting the incident to police.

Neighbours said the boy was beaten by villagers on allegations of defilement and died at home three days later.
The family made no efforts to take the deceased to hospital despite his condition deteriorating.
Okeri said police will take the body to mortuary as investigations into the matter kick off.
