Police arrest MCA for assaulting government officer with torch

Nairobi - Isiolo County Assembly Majority Leader, Adan Wako has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a public servant during a funds drive event.
Wako was arrested by police officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations but was released later of KES.10,000 bond.
The Kinna Ward Representative allegedly assaulted Mohammed Halakhe, who is a government officer, during a funds drive event at his ward.
He is said to have used a torch to inflict head injuries on the complainant who was treated at Garbatulla Sub-County hospital and discharged.
The Isiolo District Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO), Peter Ndubi confirmed the incident saying the matter was still under investigations adding that the lawmaker would be arraigned in court after adequate probe for trial.
