Peter Kenneth snubs Raila, joins Jubilee
25 May 2016, 15:43
Nairobi - Peter Kenneth is part of the Jubilee Coalition’s plans for
the 2022 General Elections, it has been revealed.
The former Gatanga MP has been told by President Uhuru
Kenyatta to back him in the 2017 polls and expect a similar favour come 2022.
This is despite DP William Ruto being touted loudly as the
Jubilee party flag bearer for the polls in 2022.
Jubilee coalition power brokers say that the President is a
fan of Kenneth’s and has let it known what his plans are for future.
“Peter Kenneth is genuinely the next budding leader from the
Mount Kenya region and the President knows he will be ripe for the 2022
elections. He will be a good legacy to leave behind,” a Jubilee source told
Kenneth has been touted as CORD leader Raila Odinga’s
running mate for the 2017 elections but that has yet to come to fruition.
The President and Kenneth have already met a number of times
in private even though whether the former Presidential candidate will back him
now or in future remains to be seen.
