Panic at Strathmore University following 'terror drill'

Nairobi - Students and staff of Strathmore University were left in panic mode after an apparent terror scare, only for it to be stated as a terror drill by the management of the institution.
The drill took place Monday morning and it took students and staff by surprise with a few suffering injuries after trying to escape the apparent melee.
The management confirmed that the had been a terror drill and that those injured would be taken care of my the management.
" In liaison with OCPD Lang'ata after security training we have carried out a drill to test readiness of students and staff," they said in a statement.
" Students and staff were evacuated by security marshals from all the buildings. A few casualties have been reported and the institution will cater for it.
" We thank students and staff for cooperation, and also thank the Kenya Red Cross for speedy response. We also thank the OCPD and team as well for their help," he added.
The University is based in the Madaraka neighbourhood of Nairobi.
