Outspoken Senator ready to leave CORD

Nairobi - An outspoken Senator is ready to leave the CORD Coalition.
Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar says that he is ready to quit the Coalition together with his colleagues at the Wiper Democratic Party if they feel shortchanged by other coalition partners.
Omar says that Wiper is ready to go it alone come the 2017 elections if there is any evidence that key partner ODM is not planning to keep the caucus together.
" There is no need to stay in CORD if ODM do not want us there," he said.
" Wiper is a national party that has its own presence in all 47 counties and if there is any sign that there will be no cooperation within the CORD Coalition, then so be it," he added.
According to Wiper leaders, ODM has been chest thumping in the last couple of weeks, an indication that they are not ready to do business come the 2017 polls.
ODM has lately been releasing statements openly stating that they are ready to go it alone come 2017 if Raila Odinga is to run for the Presidency.
That has not gone down well at Wiper.
" They were the first to fire the bullet. We will not be cowed, because we believe in ourselves,” stated Omar.
