Nairobi - Another opposition MP from the Coast has shifted to the Jubilee Coalition.
Athman Sharriff, of Lamu East and the United Democratic Front UDF has ditched the Musalia Mudavadi led party for the Jubilee Coalition.
He says that with Lamu Governor Issa Timamy, also of UDF having moved to the ruling coalition, he had no other choice but to.
" If you ask the people, the government has made so many strides in Lamu and I for one thus follow them to the government as they have asked," he told News24 on phone.
He said that he had no hard feelings with UDF leader Musalia Mudavadi.
" I have no ill feelings. I am making this move on principle of development record and not any other reason," he added.
Timamy also told News24 that he had shifted to the ruling coalition thanks to the development record portrayed by the current government.
He stated that staying in the opposition whilst development has been witnessed in Lamu would be hypocritical.
