Nakuru - A week old baby was Tuesday afternoon rescued from a pit latrine in bondeni estate in Nakuru town.
The little Angel had been thrown inside the pit latrine by her mother Maureen Agaiza before neighbours were alerted by her cries.
Bondeni OCPD Pascal Kiamba confirmed the incident saying that police were called in after neighbours heard cries emanetting from the latrine.
"We were called by a neighbour who heard the baby crying inside the latrine and with the help of residents we managed to rescue the little baby alive,"said Kiamba.
The baby was taken to the Nakuru level five hospital where she is admitted while the mother is being held in police custody.
