Nairobi - Former Interior Cabinet secretary Joseph ole Lenku has been rewarded with a parastatal job for his support for the Jubilee Coalition.
Lenku, who was unceremoniously kicked out of office in 2014 has been appointed chairman of the SACCO Societies Regulatory
He was sacked from the Cabinet in December 2014 after a number of terrorist attacks and security lapses made his job untenable in the eyes of the public, forcing him to step aside.
However, he makes a return to government, albeit in a lower key position.
Lenku is set to run for the Kajiado County Governor's position in the 2017 General Elections on a Jubilee ticket.
He has been making waves in the region and just recently oversaw a women's investment event in Ongata Rongai town.
" I thank the President for the honour and look forward to serving the people of Kenya in the coming months," he said when contacted.
Ole Lenku will take on Governor David Nkedianye of CORD come the 2017 polls.
