ODM MP welcomed to Jubilee but warned of tough battle in 2017

Nairobi - URP’s nominated MP Sarah Lekorere has welcomed Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel to Jubilee Party but warned him of tough battle in 2017 elections.
The two MPs, whose rivalry began after Lekorere declared her interest in the parliamentary seat, are expected to battle it out in Jubilee Party primaries.
Lempurkel is said to have decamped from ODM following a visit to State House with Maa community leaders from Laikipia and Narok counties led by former Minister William Ole Nitimama.
Lekorere has been crisscrossing the constituency in hunt of votes and campaigning for Jubilee Party.
She has wooed mostly women and some major tribes who have accused Lempurkel of inequitable distribution of the NG-CDF Kitty, saying some regions lack a single project that has been carried out by the MP.
Lekorere was nominated to parliament by URP and has been the government right hand person in the region.
She said she is not worried about politicians joining Jubilee, noting that they must be prepared to be shown dust as it will not be a bed of roses.
“We welcome whoever wants to join Jubilee but we are also prepared for them. They have first to tell the people of Laikipia North what they have been doing with their funds,” Lekorere stated
