Nairobi - A Jubilee leader says that he has brokered the move by an ODM MP to the ruling coalition.
Fred Gumo, the former Westlands MP says that Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba will support President Uhuru Kenyatta come the 2017 election.
He says that he and Funyula MP Paul Otuoma had agreed to work with the government.
" They will work with the government. They have agreed to leave ODM and support the President," he said.
He did not give details as to whether the two would join the Jubilee Party or they would instead support the President via other means.
Ababu is on record as saying that he will leave ODM for a new party to be named.
He says that he is eyeing Luhya unity, thus the need to form a new force which will pave the way for Luhya domination in the future.
" The new force will enable the Luhya community to stand on its own and seek to ensure it is not left out of progression like has been the case in the past," he stated.
Ababu and other Luhya leaders have been closely linked to the Jubilee Coalition and it remains to be seen whether they will heed the call.
