ODM MP embarrassed by Raila comments in Ntimama funeral

15 September 2016, 16:31 William Korir

Nairobi - An ODM MP was left embarrassed by party leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta's utterances during former Cabinet Minister William Ole Ntimama’s funeral in Narok.

The MP, Ababu Namwamba of Budalang’i was left surprised by the statement by Raila declaring Ntimama an ODM member during his funeral, saying that it was an unnecessary act.

He also criticised President Uhuru Kenyatta for throwing his toys out of the pram and losing his cool during the funeral.

“I think that both Raila and Uhuru should have been more responsible to avoid such a scenario taking place,” he told News24.

He said that both, being national leaders should not have indulged in such arguments in public.

“Both the President and Raila made mistakes and should not have gone at each other in the manner they did,” he added.

Ababu re-ignited the debate on whether there should be a ban on politics at funerals, saying that politicians should not be allowed to spread their agenda on such platforms.

Other leaders have also questioned the actions of the two leaders who argued on political terms during the funeral.
