Nairobi - The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party will not defeat the Jubilee government in the 2017 general elections if it makes good its threat to go it alone, Wiper Secretary general Hassan Omar has said.
Omar said that the cord coalition parties should remain united so as to defeat President Uhuru Kenyatta and give the country good leadership.
"Our partners in ODM should know that they will never defeat Jubilee if they decide to go it alone. We need to be together as a coalition", he said.
The Mombasa Senator said history has shown that not a single party can win an election alone and thus there is need to unite under one coalition.
"History has shown that no single party win elections and if we disintegrate, then we are giving Jubilee party an early Christmas gift", he said.
Over the weekend, ODM leader Raila Odinga threatened to go it alone in the 2017 elections after the coalition's co-principals called on him to play a role of king maker.
