Nyanza ODM MP announces plans quit party
12 July 2016, 17:06
Nairobi - An ODM MP says that the party is not taking care of the interests of his community.
Richard Onyonka of Kitutu Chache told News24 on phone that the interests of the Kisii community have so far not been looked at and that there is need to ensure that they are taken care of.
He stated that there is need to form an outfit that will do so.
" I am not saying that we will not support CORD eventually but I think it is prudent to form our own party that will take care of all our interests," he said.
He stated that both CORD and the ruling Jubilee Coalitions had not done enough for the community.
" We need to hold our own cards to survive and that is what I am looking for," he added.
If he does move, it will be another blow to the CORD Coalition and party leader Raila Odinga who has been faced with serious rebellion over the last few months.
