Nairobi - The number of men seeking medical assistance to boost their sexual urge at the Coast region is increasing.
According to the Kenya Herbalist Association Coast region, the situation has been as a result of drug abuse among young men which has affected their reproductive health.
Speaking in Mombasa on Thursday morning, the Herbalists Coast region Chair Doctor Abdillahi Farsy said that men as young as 10 are already losing their sexual urge following the use of drugs and indulging in alcohol that is why most of them cannot play their roles well in bed.
Doctor Farsy said that the use of Miraa and Mogoka as well has left many married men in agony after most of them complain of erection problems.
“Men between 20 to 50 years are suffering erection dysfunction and they have in the recent past flocking our herbal hospitals where we assist them to restore their sexual feelings” said Doctor Farsy.
The herbal medicine specialist at the Coast said that chewing of Miraa and ‘Mogoka’ among men has greatly broke many marriages especially in Mombasa since most married women also visit the herbal clinic at NSSF building Nkrumah road in Mombasa to seek counseling and medicine for their husbands.
“I think the County government should ban Khat and ‘Mogoka’ in the County, since it is affecting very many families as young men spend the whole night chewing Miraa and ‘Mogoka” said Doctor Farsy.
He revealed that he receives over ten men in a week of between 20 to 50 years old seeking the same treatment since most of them suffers lack of sexual urge and libido.
Doctor Farsy appealed to men to avoid drinking spirits, chewing Miraa and Mogoka and as well stop indulging in drug abuse.
He also asked Mombasa County government to quickly pass a bill to completely ban selling and chewing of Miraa and Mogoka among men in the County.
Doctor Farsy is asking men to improve on their diet and includes nuts and coconuts as well as natural foods so that they can rescue their libido.
He cautioned men against using sexual enhancement tablets among them ‘Viagra’ saying that such tablet apart from completely killings men’s libido, in the long run it leads to heart diseases
