No sacred cows in Jubilee Party, Uhuru says

09 August 2016, 14:03 Kiplangat Langat

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that they will not favour any candidate during the Jubilee party nominations.

Speaking during a televised event from State House, Uhuru said that they will respect the decision of the voters.

"Neither I nor the Deputy President have preferred candidates for any position. Nobody should say that I have been sent by the President or the Deputy President. If you need to win, engage the wananchi and we will work with any leader that wananchi chooses. We will respect their decision," he said.

"No political competition should lead to mayhem and loss of lives and destruction of property," he said.

Twelve parties have dissolved to form Jubilee Party.
