Nightmare for Nairobi residents as floods sweep city

Nairobi - Floods have swept through Nairobi after an evening of heavy showers in the Capital city.
The floods were apparent from just after 5 PM Friday as the rains took centre stage in the city's rush hour.
By the time they were slowing down it was a nightmare scenario for city residents.
Major roads were clogged with water and some impassable as the city dealt with an unprecedented level of water.
Some major roads that included Denis Pritt, Lenana, Bunyala, Commercial Street and parts of Uhuru highway were heavily flooded.
Road, Museum Hill, Pangani, Ojijo and Thika Road towards Thika Road
Mall were flooded, with motorists being urged to avoid them.
The Kenya Red Cross urged City residents to be careful.
" Heavy flooding. Patience needed," they stated.
Earlier in the evening, the death of four people was confirmed by Police.
The wall of the house between the Russian Embassy
and Department of Defence came down during the heavy downpour leavinf four dead. The dead were were three men and a woman.
Their bodies were taken to the nearby City Mortuary.
