NHIF threatens to blacklist hospitals offering substandard services

Nairobi - The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) Chief Executive Officer, Simeon Ole Kirgotty has put on notice hospitals offering substandard services.
Kirgotty said hospitals that do not have sufficient facilities will be blacklisted.
He said the NHIF board has signed contracts with hospitals so they can offer excellent services.
“Some proprietors have said that they are in far-flung areas which have limited facilities but what we need is good services for our members,” he said.

The CEO was speaking at Green Hills Hotel in Nyeri town during a stakeholders' engagement forum.
He said similar meetings will be held in Nakuru, Eldoret, Mombasa among other regions.
