Ngilu announces 2017 Presidential bid
06 March 2016, 17:14
Nairobi - Former Lands CS Charity Ngilu says she will contest the Presidency in the 2017 General Elections.
Ngilu is not new to Presidential bids and has contested in the past but the latest one, which comes after she decided not to in the 2013 polls will be surprising.
The long time MP and Minister says that she has the solution to Kenya's problems.
" I will contest the Presidency in the 2017 elections," she told News24.
" I believe that I have the experience and know-how to take Kenya to the next level," she added.
Ngilu did not announce what party she would seek the mandate to contest from but ruled out working with the ruling Jubilee Coalition.
Ngilu is the sixth to announce Presidential ambitions, after President Uhuru Kenyatta, CORD leaders Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula, Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi.
