Nakuru sex workers planning demo over colleague's murder

Nakuru - Commercial sex workers in Nakuru town are plannng to hold another demonstration in the Nakuru town after another prostitute was found dead in a lodging.
Chairperson of the sex workers union in the town, Daisy Achieng said the County government has failed to protect them.
“We are going to hold another demonstration because it appears the County government has failed to protect us,” she said.
Speaking to media Wednesday in Nakuru town, Achieng said so far nine commercial sex workers have been killed in Nakuru town in the last one year.

She said local police have also failed to apprehend the assailants who have been killing their colleagues.
Achieng added the latest case involved a 21-year-old girl who was found dead in a lodging at Flamingo Estate in Nakuru town Tuesday.
She said that if the killer is not found they will demonstrate to the office of the Governor to demand for protection.
She maintained that prostitution is normal business like any other and that people ought to respect it.
