Nairobi - Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua says that IEBC protests in the county are unwelcome.
Mutua says that the protests are a waste of time and money and unnaceptable to the residents of the region.
He called the protests a mockery of democracy and asked area residents to spend more time on ensuring that they build the economy of the nation.
" The protests are a waste of time. They are not welcome here. We will not spend time and money hiring Police officers to take care of protesters," he said.
" We have a Constitution. It is clear how to resolve these things. Let us take them to Parliament," he added.
The CORD Coalition will hold protests in Nairobi and other cities in the country Monday and Thursday next week to protest the non willingness of the government to make changes to the IEBC.
