Murang'a - A somber mood engulfed residents of Kaaga village, Murang’a South sub-County after a teenager committed suicide Wednesday morning.
The deceased committed suicide inside his house using a bed sheet.
Villagers who milled around the homestead spoke in hushed tones as they expressed their shock.
The deceased’s brother said he noticed the body of his brother dangling from the roof of the house when he went to visit him in the morning.
“I raised an alarm prompting members of the public to respond,” he said.
He described his brother as a jovial person and wondered what could have led him to commit suicide as there were no wrangles in the family.
Confirming the suicide, Murang’a South Administration Police (AP) commandant Richard Rotich condemned the incident and urged residents to embrace dialogue instead of resorting to suicide.
He said the body was taken to Thika level five hospital mortuary.
