Nairobi - MPs will meet Wednesday and Thursday to debate the appointments to the Cabinet and other senior positions in government by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Parliament’s Media Officer Martin Mutua
said in a statement that the House will hold morning and afternoon
sittings where reports on the suitability of six nominees to the Cabinet
and 24 Principal Secretaries to serve in the Kenyatta administration
will be considered.
Eleven House Departmental Committees will each present their
respective reports recommending the appointment or rejection of PSs
after they conducted separate approval sittings last Friday.
If the MPs approve the nominations of Mwangi Kiunjuri (Devolution
and Planning), Willy Bett (Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries), Joseph
Mucheru (Information, Communication and Technology), Sicily Kariuki
(Public Service, Gender and Youth Affairs) and Cleopa Mailu (Health)
they will be sworn in to join the expanded 20 member Cabinet.
The MPs have already been vetted and their various scorecards will be presented in the house sittings.
