Nairobi - The political future of Kapseret MP, Oscar Sudi now hangs in the balance after the Director of Public Prosecution agreed with the recommendation of the anti-graft agency that he be charged for allegedly submitting forged academic certificates during the last general elections.
The first time MP is mentioned in the latest Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) report for allegedly presenting a forged Diploma in Business Management and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC).
According to the report seen by News24, the MP is further accused of making a false declaration under oath through a self-declaration form to the IEBC.
"The suspect also uttered the said forged documents to the IEBC and EACC, with the intention to deceive these commissions," reads the report.
"The DPP on July 31, accepted the recommendation for the prosecution of the MP on the three counts of forgery that include uttering of false documents, providing false information and making a false statutory regulation.”
The vocal MP was in the news last week, after he accompanied Governors Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu) and Alex Tolgos (Elgeyo Marakwet) and his other colleagues last week to storm Moi University, seeking to oust acting VC Prof Laban Ayiro
The lawmaker and the leaders later recorded a statement earlier this week at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation in Nairobi, after being summoned.
