MP threatens to evict Luos from Nakuru over IEBC protests

Nairobi - Bahati member of parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has threatened to evict all Luos from Nakuru County should the CORD coalition continue holding anti-IEBC protests which he claimed are leading to destruction of property owned by members of the Kikuyu community.
Ngunjiri spoke Saturday at Kiamunyi where he led rowdy youths to eject CORD leader, Raila Odinga from a hotel where he was holding meetings with elders from various communities.
He said that members of the Luo community last week targeted businesses owned by the Kikuyu community during the anti-IEBC protests. He claimed that Raila had ferried people from Kisumu to Nakuru to destroy property in the town and warned that Nakuru leaders will not allow that.
“Last week they destroyed property belonging to our people and if they will not stop the protests then we will ask all Luos to leave Nakuru,”he said.
“He has ferried people from Kisumu to Nakuru to destroy our property but we will not allow that to happen here because as leaders we must protect the properties of our people,” said Ngunjiri.
The IEBC protests are set to continue this week Monday and Thursday.
