MP: Sport betting companies fleecing poor kenyans

Nairobi - Naivasha MP John Kihagi now wants the government to rein on sport betting companies which he claimed are fleecing Kenyans and making them even poorer. Kihagi said that most Kenyans have been held hostage and made slaves by betting companies.
He said that sports betting companies are taking advantage of desperate Kenyans to milk money out of them.

"Sports betting companies are fleecing Kenyans and people are loosing thousands of shillings in betting that is not yielding fruits,"said Kihagi.
"Families are breaking up because men are spending all the money on betting. The sports betting companiesust stop taking adavantage of poor Kenyans ,"he said.
He called on the government to put strict laws that will protect Kenyans from being financially drained by betting companies.
"I know of people who have committed suicide after loosing money in betting and its time the government did something."
