Nakuru - Nakuru East MP David Gikaria has initiated a campaign of giving KES1000 to every pregnant woman he meets in his constituency.
The MP says that his move is aimed at encouraging more women tin his constituency to get pregnant as a mean of increasing the population.
He says that he needs more children in his constituency to increase the voting population in the coming years.
“The population in Nakuru east is still low and we want our women to continue getting pregnant so that we can be populous like other regions,” said Gikaria.
“You look at a region like western Kenya and you ask yourself what we are not doing right and that is why we want to surpass them,” he said
