Nairobi - A CORD MP says that he does not need to be in the CORD
Coalition to defend his seat come the 2017 elections.
Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi says that he does not need to be
in the CORD Coalition to win the polls and says that he proved in 2013 that he
Mwangangi who was elected on a Muungano Party ticket has
ditched the CORD Coalition and says that he is now a part of the Jubilee wing.
He says that supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta will not
spoil his chances of winning the polls and is ready to prove it come ballot
“I showed in 2013 that I do not need to be in CORD to win in
a CORD zone,” he told News24.
He stated that he has jumped to the ruling coalition as a
matter of principle.
“ The Jubilee Coalition has shown that it is keen on
development despite the region and voting patterns from the previous election and
that is why I am voting for them come 2017,” he added.
Mwangangi supported the election of Raila Odinga in the 2013
elections under the CORD Coalition.
