Mourners dump body of road accident victim on the road in protest

Nyeri - Transport activities were paralyzed along Mukurweini-Othaya road after a group of mourners blocked the road with a coffin carrying the remains of a man who died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle.
The furious demonstrators also barricaded the road with stones, twigs and bonfires protesting the increased road accidents in the area especially at Gichichini junction.
They said the deceased was killed by a hit-and-run vehicle whose driver is yet to be arrested.

Mukurweini OCPD, Jonathan Muli however said the situation was contained by anti-riot police officers.
Residents called for bumps to be erected in the area to mitigate road accidents.
