Nairobi - Motorists have felt the brunt of the heavy rains in Nairobi with flood water sweeping away their vehicles and others submerged in the water.
In various places in the City, motorists were left ruing the costs of repairing their vehicles as flood water submerged their machinery.
In the South C estate, more than 200 vehicles were covered in water while in various estates in Nairobi, the story was the same.
Too much water, no drainage.
Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, when contacted by News24 was not available.
The government set aside over KES 5 billion to be used for El Nino floods prevention and recovery and it remains to be seen whether the money will be used to repair the drainage in the city which is now a serious problem.
Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko was first to condole frustrated city residents.
" It is indeed shocking that to this day and after previous experiences, we are still suffering the same problem with flood water. Something has to be done," he said in what many felt was a jibe at Kidero.
Four people died earlier in the evening after a wall collapsed on them at the Department of Defence headquarters in Hurlingham thanks to the heavy rain.
