Mixed reactions over Raila's remark that he is ready to step down

Nairobi - Cord leader Raila Odinga's remarks that he is ready to step down and support another cord candidate in order to win the 2017 elections has elicited mixed reactions across the political divide.
Bungoma Senator who is also a cord co-principal has welcomed the move and told Raila to support his candidature as the western region has stood by him three times that he vied for the presidency.
"We have supported Raila and we even supported his father...so I urge Raila to also support me as I have what it takes to be the next occupant of State house", he said over the weekend.
Three cabinet Secretaries from jubilee have however called on Odinga not to step down so that thy " can teach him a lesson".
Led by Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, they called on Odinga not to halt his ambition.
"Let him not shelve his 2017 presidential ambitions...so that we Jubilee can prove to him what we are made of", said Kiunjuri.
