Murang'a - A Murang’a Member of County Assembly (MCA) has been suspended after a committee found her guilty of using derogatory language against a colleague representing people with special needs.
Gaturi Ward Representative, Rosemary Wakuthie was suspended for 14 days for insulting her nominated colleague, Florence Nyambura, by calling her 'disabled'.
The incident occurred on March 15 during a committee meeting while deliberating on pending allowances to MCAs.

Wakuthie hurled insults at Nyambura after she said that they should take the issue of the allowances to the County Governor.
Nyambura, who is living with albinism, reported the matter to the Powers and Privileges Committee which recommended investigations.
Wakuthie, however, did not appeal the Committee’s decision to suspend her.
