Nyeri - A Nyeri Member of the County Assembly (MCA) spent the night in the boot of her car outside the County Assembly alongside her two-month-old newborn baby.
Lucy Mbogo, who is specially elected to represent women, took the move for fear of attack and abduction ahead of Governor Nderitu Gachagua's impeachment motion last week.
Other 36 MCAs also slept at the chambers after receiving threats over their lives.
According to Majority Leader Duncan Gituanja, the Ward Reps were served with hot meal by a woman living near the County Assembly out of sympathy.
The MCAs were caught in the morning washing their faces from cups, with Gituanja confirming that they had not taken shower since the previous day.
Other female MCAs were spotted applying make-up and jelly on their faces using the side mirrors of their cars.
Governor Gachagua has already been impeached over gross misconduct, abuse of office, corruption, failure to assent to Bills passed by the County Assembly and violating procurement Act among others.
