MCA in court for obtaining KES 280,000 fraudulently

Kirinyaga - A Member of Kirinyaga County Assembly has been arraigned in court to face charges of falsely obtaining KES 280,000 from a local businessman.
Mutithi Ward MCA, Jenaro Njamumo however denied receiving the money from Julius Kinyua Mwobe when he appeared before chief magistrate Francis Adai.
The court heard that he obtained the cash from the trader by falsely pretending that he would award him a KES.2.8 million tender to supply water pipes for some project.

He is alleged to have committed the offense on March 13 at Kerugoya town in Kirinyaga Central constituency.
Njamumo was released on a KES 600, 000 bond or a KES 50,000 cash bail.
The hearing is set for September 28 with a mention of August 8, 2016.
