Matatu rams into pedestrians at Zebra crossing in Nairobi CBD

Nairobi - A matatu lost control and rammed into two people on a Zebra Crossing in Nairobi's CBD.
The matatu driver, who was allegedly overlapping lost control of his vehicle and rammed into the two people in the intersection of Moi Avenue and Biashara Street Thursday evening.
Two people were injured, a woman in her 60's and a middle aged man.
Their injuries were however not life threatening and were rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment.
" The driver has been arrested and will be arraigned in court Friday for dangerous driving," Nairobi County Traffic Commander Edward Mwamburi told News24.
He said that the driver of the vehicle had admitted to the charges and apologized for his behaviour.
Members of the public were forced to detain the driver to avoid him escaping. The vehicle belonged to the Super Metro bus services.
Incidences of accidents in the CBD have increased in recent times with the County government being asked to erect more bumps to curtail needless injuries and loss of lives.
