Mombasa - NARC-Kenya leader Martha Karua has said that she will not rest until she becomes the President of this country.
Karua said that women in the country have what it takes to lead and that she is the best candidate for that position.
Addressing women members of County assemblies drawn from all the 47 counties who converged at the Flamingo beach hotel in Mombasa for a one-week conference on Women and Leadership, Karua said that the constitution has given women priority in matters of leadership and they should utilize the opportunity.
Karua asked women to fight for higher elective post in the forthcoming general election.
“Why should we fear fighting for higher elective posts and only wait for nominations - are we that inferior?” posed Karua.

The CORD supporter has challenged women leaders to show their capability so they can inspire other women to venture into politics in the coming years.
Karua said that women should be supported by the community, NGOs and other women activists to ensure that their goals in politics are attained.
“Let us make sure we build the capacity for ourselves; let us source for enough support and pursue the top elective seats in 2017,” Karua appealed to the Women.
The one week conference which will also be attended by women Senators is aimed at creating awareness to Women leaders and enable them to pursue their political goals.
