Nairobi - Mandera County officials are being paid KES 120,000 a day in allowances to attend the ongoing Devolution Conference.
A letter signed by the County finance team and seen by News24 shows that the 6 senior officials will earn KES 1.2 million each for the 10 day conference.
Another 11 officers will earn KES 80,000 daily for the 10 day conference.
The County will spend a further KES 2 million for banners in the conference that seeks to show the gains made by Devolution in Kenya since inception in 2013.
Governor Ali Roba was not available for comment when called by News24.
The revelation comes just a few weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta called on Counties to be considerate in their spending.
