Nairobi - A man who told a Nyahururu court that bad dreams made him smoke bhang was today sentenced to one day community service order.
Boniface Nyutu Wangui, 31, pleaded guilty to the charges of being in possession of three rolls of bhang before resident magistrate Peter Ndege.
He was charged that on July 15, this year at Kirengero shopping centre in Nakuru County, he was found in possession of three rolls of bhang worth Sh 60.
The court heard that police officers from Kirengero police station were on a normal patrol when they came across the accused smoking bhang and going on ahead to search him they found him in possession of three rolls of the narcotic.
He was arrested and taken to Kirengero police station where he was charged with the offences.
In mitigation the accused person told the court that he was having bad dreams and since he could not sleep he decided to go outside and smoke the narcotic
