Nyeri - A man is on the run after severing private parts of his four-year-old stepson at Njeng’u village, Kieni West Sub-County in Nyeri.
According to doctors, the man had denied the boy access to medical attention for more than 10 days.
James King’ori, 32, took the minor to Mweiga dispensary where they were referred to Nyeri Referral Hospital for treatment but the man did not adhere to the instructions and instead went back home.
He is said to have used a sharp object like knife to commit the offense and then lied to doctors that a crowbar had fallen on the minor’s private parts.
The boy’s mother said the man escaped after realizing that she had reported the matter at Mweiga police station where she was subsequently issued with a P3 form.

She said the incident happened on January 3 following a dispute involving a missing crowbar.
“He dragged my son into the house and started beating him. He later removed his shorts and mutilated his private parts. The boy was screaming and when neighbours came, he said a crowbar fell on the boy,” said the 30-year-old woman.
Doctor Gor Goody of Nyeri Referral Hospital, where the minor was admitted, said they received the patient with a septic wound and swollen genitals but he is in stable condition now.
Once the swelling subsides, doctor said, he will undergo surgery.
The mother said the suspect had previously stabbed the boy on the face but begged for forgiveness.
She however said she would not forgive him this time round as she is now fearing for her life and that of her children.
The couple has four children two of which they sired together while the other two she bore before their marriage.
Kieni West OCPD, John Kemboi said police have launched manhunt for the man as he exuded confidence that he will be apprehended soon.
